Promoting and encouraging all members, adults, and youth, is a major priority of the Tribal Council, Currently, with limited funding, it tries to provide educational support in three programs or services. The first recognizes the achievement of educational milestones like graduating from elementary school, by providing small stipends. The second is to provide small stipends to members in post-secondary academic programs or certificated technical trade programs. Member receives a stipend for successfully completing each semester of not less than 12 units This stipend is available for up to 8 semesters. A member may receive a stipend for enrolling and successfully completing up to 3 technical trade school certificates. The third educational program provides child care funding for a member to enroll their child or children in an educationally-based child care program. All three programs have limited funding and services are provided on a first-come-first-served basis. The first two programs are administered through the Family Advocates assigned to the Tribe’s Family and Health Services Department. The Child Care program is currently funded by the Tribal Council’s Executive Secretary.
