Home MenuScotts Valley Energy Corporation
Scotts Valley Energy Corporation, established in late 2018 for the purpose of pursuing the planning of economic opportunities in the energy industry with an emphasis on creating a distributive network of small-scale bioenergy plants. Each plant will generate energy via pyrolysis/gasification technology that is supplied to a consumer or sold on the wholesale market through 15 to 20-year agreements. A byproduct of the pyrolysis/gasification process is called biochar, a pure carbon material that has multiple applications in various industries. The plan assumes the sale of the biochar will be an additional revenue stream. The first plant will be established at the Tribe’s Red Hills property.
Yuba City
Scotts Valley Energy Corporation Yuba City is a subsidiary company established in mid 2020 for the specific purpose of constructing and operating a bioenergy plant to serve the unmet energy needs of the Sacramento Valley Walnut Growers, LLC manufacturing plant located in Yuba City. The uniqueness of the operation is the use of walnut shells, an otherwise waste product, as the fuel for the pyrolysis/gasification process. The long range plan is to increase energy production in a phased approach based on the volume of walnut shells and to sell the excess energy to PG&E. Funding is now being sought to establish this plant.
