The Family Advocates are experienced in the Indian Child Welfare Act. This federal law is intended to ensure that Native American children who are experiencing adverse living conditions requiring placement within a safe environment will first find placement with the children’s extended family and second within the Native American community. This program works closely with the county’s Children’s Protective Service staff and the legal system to provide the children with the best and safest nurturing environment.
