The tribe owns 5 single-family homes, recently acquired a 10 unit apartment in North Lakeport, and hopes to shortly own a Safe House complex. The single-family homes are intended for families that can leave independently, the apartments for individuals that are homeless, and the safe house for members in recovery or victims of crime. In addition, the Housing Department has a federal grant to assist members in a number of ways, such as energy-efficient upgrades, emergency assistance with utility bills, elders rental assistance, renter’s moving in and security deposit assistance, and home buyers assistance. Each of these services has eligibility requirements and is provided on a first come first serve basis because the funds are limited.
